This is troubling ...

Oh boy. I'm going to need a week just to figure out how this happened. (I DO believe in the literal virgin birth and resurrection of Christ, by the way!) I haven't even read much Barth. And what is Augustine doing at the bottom? Augie, man, I love your Confessions! And Jonathan Edwards, a mere 47%? Tied with (gulp!) Finney? How did Schleiermacher weasel his way up so high?! Maybe I'm posting at the wrong blog. Something must be skewed here.

(Take the silly quiz for yourself.)

You scored as Karl Barth. The daddy of 20th Century theology. You perceive liberal theology to be a disaster and so you insist that the revelation of Christ, not human experience, should be the starting point for all theology.

there is always (dare i say it?) the possibility that the quiz is not-all-that-good?! if it's any comfort, i took a 'which 16th century theologian are you?' quiz last year and came up as cardinal catejan. but then that mostly asked questions like 'what is your favourite film?' and 'which would be your preferred meal?'

It seems that I am Martin Luther, who tied with Anselm at 93%. Barth is third at 87%, Calvin a meager 67%. Guess I secretly hold to the ubiquity of Christ's body? Edwards is at 47%. Augustine is also at the bottom for me, 13% (yikes!), and superceded by Finney, Tillich, Moltmann, and Schleiermacher. Should I be worried? :(

I was a statistical tie between Barth and Anselm.

I just took the sixteenth century theologians one and I am Philip Melancthon. Nice.

Chris, regarding your theology, in the words of William Wallace's uncle in "Braveheart"...we'll have to remedy that :)

It's a fun exercise though definitely flawed. Since I am in the process of looking for employment I will say I too had Luther, Anselm, Calvin and Edwards as the top and no Finney in me. I guess the only thing I have in common with the man is he too was a Presbyterian.

I was most MOST surprised to find Barth topping my list too, but not to find Finney at the tail! Similarly to another commenter, I can't figure out why Augustine scores so low in my count. Going to have to read Confessions again ;)

I was glad to score a JE. Most importantly, my Moltmann score was 0!

Must stink to be you. I personally haven't had the nerve to take the test yet. Just goes to show you just how inaccurate personality tests can be.
