Friday Fun: How to Be a Real Friend to Sinners

Part One ...

Part Two ...

"The man who does not know the nature of the Law, cannot know the nature of sin."
John Bunyan

"The trouble with people who are not seeking for a Savior, and for salvation, is that they do not understand the nature of sin. It is the peculiar function of the Law to bring such an understanding to a man's mind and conscience. That is why great evangelical preachers 300 year ago in the time of the Puritans, and 200 years ago in the time of Whitefield and others, always engaged in what they called preliminary 'Law' work."
Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Todd Friel, featured in the video, is the host of the "Way of the Master" radio podcast. Find great evangelism resources from Way of the Master, which was founded by New Zealand evangelist Ray Comfort (who is assisted by none other than Kirk Cameron) at Living Waters Ministries' site.

It's amazing that in light of all the controversy over imputed righteousness (Federal Vision, New Perspective), that this truth is so practical and makes sense to "every-day" people on the street!

What hope can dead sinners have in the presence of a Holy and Just God that demands perfect obedience? Nothing but the completely perfect righteous obedience of Jesus Christ!

What would NPP or FV evangelism look like? "Your in by God's grace. But, you still have keep yourself in by obedient faith." What kind of hope or comfort is that?

Only the imputed righteous life of Christ to the sinners' account can offer them hope.

Sorry about getting on my soap-box. I think I've been reading too much R. Scott Clark. :)

You have free reign to our soap-box any time, Chris.

Amen and amen.

"For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith."
Rom. 3:28-30
